The LaGrange Ga Shopping team took some time out to do a little Christmas shopping on your behalf this week by visiting The Ritzy Roost, a warm, comfortable consignment shop located on S. LaFayette Square in downtown LaGrange. When walking in the store you find a wealth of quality merchandise including gently used clothing, formal wear, furniture, and even an ecclectic selection of antique jewelry and vintage brooches. Owners Margaret Zubernis and Sharon Markham warmly greet each patron in the store and continue to stress the role of recycling gently used clothes as a way to help the environment. Their mantra is Resale not Retail. We at LaGrange Ga Shopping were highly impressed with their attention to customers. While we were there one of the patrons’ recently purchased items were gently folded, placed in a box, and the patron was walked to her vehicle without having to lift a finger. Talk about attention to detail!
So here is what we found:
LGS’S CHOICE FOR BEST BARGAIN:
Two Pair of Seven Jeans for $35 Total – We totally scored in our hunt by finding two pairs of girl’s top tier Seven jeans both priced so reasonable we were shocked. You could buy both pair for $35 (one was $15, the other $20). We would estimate that if new, these would run around $120 each retail. No doubt this is a bargain!
OWNER’S CHOICE FOR BEST BARGAIN:
Glass Ornate Dining Table and Chairs for $375 – Definitely an ornate set and would look great in someone’s house who has a flair for the riche.
OTHER BARGAINS:
Banana Republic Swing Coat for $18
Classic Lilly Turtleneck for $18
TIPS FOR WHEN YOU SHOP:
- Look up to find the signage for the types of clothing you are looking for (Ladies, Men, Girls, etc.) and pay attention to the rack signs to locate sizing
- Look through all of the labels in your size first, pull out the designers you like and then make choices as to what you would like to purchase
Overall we adored our visit with The Ritzy Roost. If we had any criticism, it might be the difficulty of locating the signage (eye level might help) and some items were racked in the wrong size. Given the variety of inventory, it was really nice to see that each individual piece was tagged appropriately. Hopefully soon, we’ll re-visit The Ritzy Roost when it gets a little closer to Prom Season, and we’ll do a whole report on how to consign with this gem of a store. Well done Margaret and Sharon. Well done. Now stop reading and start Shopping in LaGrange, GA!
